Terror camps intact in PoK: Surrendered militants
Srinagar, Apr 23: A group of 24 militants which crossed over to India and surrendered before the Army has alleged that the terror infrastructure, including training camps for ultras, was intact across the Line of Control (LoC) and other cities of Pakistan.
The militants had surrendered before the Army at Rampur in the Uri sector on Friday soon after their return from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Talking to journalists, the surrendered militants said they had crossed over to PoK in early 1990s for receiving arms training after being mislead by false slogans.
''We were trained in different camps set up in PoK and other cities of Pakistan. For the past few years now, our sincerity was being doubted by the militants of other countries,'' they added.
The surrendered militants claimed that the training camps for ultras still existed across the LoC.
They alleged that the Kashmiri militants were not being treated properly and forced bonded labour across the border.
The militants said they were lucky to return back as hundreds of others faced emotional and physical torture across the border.
''We had to feed ourselves as the militants from Pakistan, PoK and other countries used to get proper food and other essentials.'' They also claimed that majority of Kashmiri militants in different camps across the LoC wanted to surrender and lead a normal life in Kashmir.
