Khursheed Alam elected president of J
Srinagar, Apr 22 (UNI) Senior trade union leader Mohammad Khursheed Alam has been re-elected as the president of the Jammu and Kashmir Employees' Joint Action Committee (EJAC).
The elections for different posts of EJAC were held through a secret ballot box system.
Mr Alam defeated his nearest rival Mohammad Sidiq Shah by 129 votes. Tasleem Rashid was elected as the EJAC spokesperson by 102 votes.
Among those elected unopposed on various posts were Muntazir Mohiuddin (convenor), Ghulam Nabi Tailbali (general secretary), Bashir Ahmad Ganai and Nusrat Ahmad Beigh (vice-presidents), Zulqarnain Bhat (publicity secretary), Jilal-ud-Din Mir (financial secretary), Khalid Mehmood Khan (joint secretary), Ghulam Hassan Malik (chief organiser), Wali Mohammad Khadem (chief advisor), Mohammad Ashraf Shah (legal advisor), Mohammad Yousuf Dar (coordinator), Farooq Ahmad Trali (chief coordinator), Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan (organiser), Mohammad Farooq Rather (office secretary), Tasleema Subhan (advisor) and Ghulam Hassan Ganai (organising secretary).
