Dale Carnegie to set up training institute in K'taka
Bangalore, Apr 22: The Sholay famed Ramanagaram town in Karnataka is all set to get a global tag with Dale Carnegie Training institute planning a major training centre, exclusively for the information Technology.
Aimed to cater to middle and high rung IT professionals in all categories, including Management, the Centre, to come up on a 30 acre land, would cater to the global requirements. It would be a fully residential one and initially offer six month training for the beginners.
The Dale Carnegie Centre would be the second IT finishing school in the Bangalore-Mysore IT belt with Raman International Institute of IT, that could accommodate 5000 fresh graduates, commencing operations in Mysore next month. Incidentally, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy represents Ramanagram Assembly segment where megahit hindi film Sholey was extensively shot in the hilly tarrain near the town, about 50 km from here.
Karnataka IT and BT Secretary M N Vidyashankar told UNI that a team of Dale Carnegie Training officials, including its Director Sanjay Jha, were in the city last week and had an inspection of the land. They were very impressed and if everything goes well, the work should start in September this year, he said.
Over the next two weeks Dale Carnegie Training would submit a project report, Mr Vidyashankar said. ''We are aggressively pushing the project.'' He said, already a few rounds of talks on the Ramanagaram project had been held with the industry experts and Bangalore University.
Though globally Dale Carnegie product need not have a university affiliation, for the purpose of Indian students, it was thought of involving Bangalore University. The Ramanagaram centre would be fully residential, unlike the Mysore finishing school for IT.
He said the Dale Carnegie Centre would ultimately emerge a leading global research and training centre.
Mr Vidyashankar said the Karnataka Government would shortly sign an agreement with the US based Alexanderia for development of the Biotechnology Park. Alexanderia had emerged as a preferred bidder for the project to develop 106 acres. The project would be offered to the company on a build own operate and transfer basis. Alexanderia was known for development of Biotech parks across the world and would be able to attract leading Biotech firms to the Park. It would be on a thirty year lease, he added.
He said the technical committee appointed by the Bangalore Metropolitan Regional Development Authority would shortly pick up the contractor for the 10,000 acre knowledge city project in Bidadi about 35 km from here on Bangalore-Mysore highway. Among 32 global leaders who had bid for the project 24 have been shortlisted.
He said the Government was all set to promote Mysore as the next major IT destination in the State. Already a number of IT units have come up and necessary infrastructure and other requirements were being developed. around 600 acres of land had been identified for notification for IT sector, he added.
Global major INTEL was also keen to start its Intel world ahead project in Mysore with the help of IT Forum of Mysore and a government department. Health and Education department was being looked to partner the project that would enable spread of IT He said as part of its design to promote Business Process Outsourcing companies in Tier two and three cities, the government would soon provide necessary facilities in Raichur and Hubli for starting up of BPO operations by a Jindal group associated firm.
Similar BPOs would also be encouraged in other important cities such as Hassan, Shimoga, Kunigal, Bagalkot, Kolar and a few other cities.
