Child mortality rate lesser than other states in Bengal: CM

Kolkata, Apr 22 (UNI) Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee today said here that the child mortality rate in the state was far less than other states.

Speaking at a programme, organised by Bidhan Chandra Sishu Hospital in Beleghata, Mr Bhattacharjee emphasised the fact that child mortality was lesser than even Tamil Nadu.

The chief minister said former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly has donated 70 lakh to the hospital by selling his bat and ball.

Mr Ganguly today shared the dias with the chief minister.
