Mahajan case: BJP Gen Sec to be examined
Mumbai, Apr 22: BJP General Secretary Gopinath Munde will be cross examined on Tuesday in Pramod Mahajan murder case.
Mr Munde, who is the brother-in-law of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan is believed to be a key witness in the case. The former BJP general secretary was shot dead by his younger brother Praveen Mahajan at the former's Mumbai residence.
On last occasion, Mr Munde had stated in his Examination-In-Chief by Special Public Prosecutor Ujwal Nikam that five-six days prior to the incident, the accused had sent a threatening message to his elder brother Pramod Mahajan.
The content of the threatening message was brought on record in the court of Additional Sessions Judge S P Davare.
The prosecution had filed a six-page supplementary chargesheet against Praveen on April 18, this year.
The SMS stated ''Ab Yachana Nahi Ran Hoga, Jeevan Vijay Ke Sath Ya Phir Maran Hoga'' (Now there will be no pleading but battle, which will decide life with victory or else death). Pravin had sent this SMS on April 15 last year at 1639 hrs.
Prosecution had submitted eight additional documents, including supplementary statement by Poonam Mahajan, daughter of Pramod Mahajan, mobile phone of the slain BJP leader, Panchanama and other materials.
