BJP demands removal of Maharashtra CM
Hyderabad, Apr 22 (UNI) BJP today demanded that the Central government remove Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Desmukh from the post for breaching the Centre's order to the state govenment to stop the construction works at the Babli project site across Godavari river.
In a press release here, the BJP Ranga Reddy District Unit President C H Krishna alleged that Mr Desmukh had shown disrespect to the Centre by not implementing its order.
He urged the government to remove Mr Desmukh immediately by imposing Article 365.
Mr Krishna criticised Mr Desmukh for hurting the sentiments of the people of Andhra by making derogatory remarks against the state.
He said the Telangana region would face water scarcity, if the project was constructed The BJP activists burnt an effigy of Mr Desmukh in protest against his reluctance to stop the project works, the release added.
