One girl killed, 20 people injured in two accidents in HP

Shimla, Apr 21 (UNI) A six-year-old girl was killed and 20 people were injured, three of them seriously, in two separate road accidents in Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours, police sources today said.

Aarti Gupta, daughter of a Chhattisgarh labourer, Nakul Prasad, was crushed to death in an accident involving a private bus near Pathiar in Kangra district.

The sources said the accident occurred when the bus was on its way to Nagrota from Dharamshala.

The bus driver, identified as Rakesh Kumar, and conductor, who was yet to be identified, have been arrested and a case has been registered against them, the sources said.

The sources said twenty people were injured, three of them seriously, after a private bus fell into a gorge near Silah in Bilaspur district yesterday.

The accident occurred when the bus was on its way to Ghumarwin from Jahu when the driver lost control over the vehicle, which fell into the gorge.

The injured have been admitted to a local hospital, while seriously injured, identified as Dharmendar, Ranveer Singh and Prakash Chand, have been reffered to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) here.

District Naib Tehsildar J R Thakur has announced immediate of Rs 15,000 for Dharmender, Rs 5,000 each for Ranveer and Prakash.

A case has been registered and investigations were on, the sources added.
