Nine killed, eight injured in truck-bus collision in Khed district
Nadiad, Apr 21 (UNI) Nine persons were killed and eight others injured in a collision between a speeding truck and a luxury bus on the Ahmedabad-Baroda expressway in Kheda district, about 20 km from Ahmedabad.
The accident occurred yesterday, when the truck hit a luxury bus, parked along the expressway due to a punctured tyre, police sources said here today.
The deceased have been identified as Abdul Majid Chauhan (Shah Alam, Ahmedabad), Girish Kantilal Patel (Ahmedabad), Anurag Kishan Gupta(Ahmedabad), Alpesh Chatur Mowalia (Surat), Govindbhai Patel (Kapodara, Surat), Chetan Atubhai Patel (Ahmedabad), Kamlesh Ambalal Sharma (Naroda, Ahmedabad) and Ramrahi Bishnoi(Jodhpur, Rajasthan).
However, one of the deceased is yet to be identified.
Of the injured persons, seven have been admitted to LG hospital while one is recuperating in V S Hospital in Ahmedabad.
The driver, however, managed to escape in the dark, sources said.
In another accident today, four persons were injured in a collision between two luxury buses in Anand district. Both the buses bore Rajasthan registration numbers, sources said.
