TCL,China to market new range of Colour TVs
Chennai, Apr 20 (UNI) TCL, China's leading consumer electronics company, today announced its expansion plans for India and unveiled its new range of colour televisions and air conditioners for the Indian market.
As a part of its expansion plans, the company would double its branches, dealer network and after-sales service centers by 2010, TCL India Holdings Pvt Ltd Managing Director Warren Wang announced at a press conference here.
As the company was strong in southern market, particulary Tamil Nadu, its presence would be further strengthened by innovative product offerings, he added.
To a question, he said TCL's market share in Tamil Nadu in colour TV segment was nine to ten per cent. At the national level, it was close to five per cent, he said.
Mr Wang said TCL had become the largest manufacturer of television sets in the world with 23 million sets being sold in 2006 alone. Its new range of colour Televisions have unique features with the price range starting from Rs 8490 onwards, he added.
He said TCL's new range of colour Air Conditioners come with a maximum noise level of just 38 decibels, which would be almost inaudible. The unique '3 Bend Heat Exchanger' ensured better cooling than any other AC by expanding the heat exchange area by 28 per cent in indoor unit, thus improving colling efficiency.
