JMM to hold 2-day central committee meeting to discuss strategy

Ranchi, Apr 20 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, the major ruling ally of Madhu Koda-led UPA government, will hold two-day central committee meeting here beginning on May 12.

The JMM was undergoing a lot of stress specially after its supremo and former Coal Minister Sibu Soren was put behind bars in connection with murder of his personal assistant Shashinath Jha.

Adding to its woes, the party general secretary and Jamshedpur MP Sunil Mahto was also assassinated by Naxalites on March five last.

JMM central organising secretary Supriya Bhattacharya today said during the two-day central committee meeting, the party would review the performance of the present government and the political situation in the state.

Besides, the party would discuss the byelection to Jamshedpur parliamentary seat, the date of which was yet to be fixed.

Meanwhile, disappointment raged among some party leaders that despite the party having the highest number (17) of MLAs in the House, it did not get the Chief Minister's post.
