315 recruits join BSF in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 20 (UNI) It was a proud moment for 315 new recruits when they joined the Border Security Force (BSF) after completing 36 weeks of rigorous training.
The recruits participated in a colourful passing out-cum-attestation parade at the Subsidiary Training Centre here this morning.
Inspector General, Kashmir frontier, of BSF J B Negi took the salute at an impressive parade. The recruits hail from different parts of the country. However, there was no Kashmiri among the recruits.
The newly inducted BSF men had to go through 36 weeks of training, including physical fitness, weapon handling, map reading and counter insurgency operations.
Stress was also given on respecting human rights, Additional Deputy Inspector General R S Rathore said.
Mr Negi in his address to recruits said the BSF was mainly deployed on the borders to thwart any infiltration attempt from across the border.
He also lauded the role played by the STC in imparting training to recruits.
Mr Negi also awarded medals to recruit constable Suman Basak and recruit constable Amit Kumar for their outstanding performance during the training.
