Ex-Corporation Bank CMD chosen for K K Pai banking award

Udupi, Apr 19 (UNI) Former Corporation Bank Chairman and Managing Director K R Rama Murthy has been selected for the coveted K K Pai National Banking award for 2006-07 for his outstanding contribution to banking industry and for providing transformational leadership in Corporation Bank and ING Vysya Bank where he served as its Chairman and Chief Executive.

K K Pai Trust Secretary Dr K K Ammannaya, in a release here today, said the award, carrying a cash award of Rs 25,000, silver plaque and a citation, would be presented at a function to be held here later this year.

Mr Murthy was presently a non-executive Chairman of ING Vysya bank.

Mr Ammannaya said Mr Murthy was the fifth recipient of the award, after Messrs late Y S Hegde(former Corporation Bank CMD), N S Vaghul (ICICI Bank Chairman), J N Varahneya (Punjab National Bank former CMD) and K V Murthy Yerkadithaya(Indian Overseas Bank former CMD).
