Bikanervala to spread wings abroad

New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) Bikanervala, a household name in traditional and ethnic foods, is spreading its wings wider-both in India and abroad.

The taste for the Indian sweets market is fast catching up in the West as well as other countries. There is the presence of large Indian diaspora who yearn for Indian sweets.

Bikaner capitalising on these trends today announced the launch of 50 outlets in India and other countries mainly the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and UAE.

''Presently, Bikanervala has 20 outlets in India, Kathmandu (Nepal) and Dubai (UAE) and is targeting 50 outlets by 2010,'' a statement by the food chain issued here said.

The Indian fast food pioneer has also focussed on promoting Indian heritage, culture and cuisine worldwide. In addition, the company has now customised Indian food for the global market and has successfully opened multiple outlets.

Bikanervala is trying to meet the increasing demands by exporting all ethnic sweets and namkeens to countries like UK, US, New Zealand, UAE, Philippines, Italy, Canada, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, Mauritius and the SAARC countries.

According to the statement, ''the company is aspiring to become a brand leader of Indian ethnic foods all over the world.'' The company has three modern manufacturing units in the National Capital Region.
