New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) A 74-year-old woman, who claims that her property in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, has ''illegally'' been taken over by the Tibetan Education Council under the Tibetan Government in exile, today appealed to his Holiness the Dalai Lama for his intervention and justice.

Ms S Kaushal, who claims that the Council acquired the land fraudulently in 1979 and has been embroiled in a legal battle since 1996, urged the Dalai Lama to grant her an audience.

Ms Kaushal, who lost her husband three years ago, alleged that the Tibetan Council and the secretary to His Holiness, Mr Tenzin Takla have been refusing to allow her to meet the Dalai Lama.

''I strongly feel that the Dalai Lama is not aware of the injustice meted out to me. His Holiness, God incarnate for millions, stands for Human rights justice and fairness I believe only he can grant me my rights,'' Ms Kaushal told a news conference here.

The Shimla High Court, in May 2006, had ruled against the Kaushal's in the case, which they have appealed against now.

Flanked by her son, daughter-in-law and other family members, she appealed to the Dalai Lama to return her the property.

''The property-- The Retreat-- which my husband and I had purchased for our post retirement life, hold sentimental value and its return will bring peace and happiness in my last days, after years of mental agony and trauma,'' she said.

''I believe that with the return of the property my husband's efforts would not go in vain,'' she added.
