Tension grips village in Tonk as cow found slaughtered

Jaipur, Apr 18 (UNI) Tension ran high in a village in Tonk district of Rajashthan when a cow was found slaughtered yesterday, police said today.

Three people have been arrested in this connection.

Investigation officer, Samundar Singh told UNI that one Radheyshyam Mali of Satiji Ka Bagh lodged a complaint at the Purani Tonk police station that his cow, who had ventured into forest was missing.

The animal was later found on Bahir Road, with its right leg cut. When the owner went to fetch water for his cow, it was slaughtered by miscreants who fled with its skin on a two-wheeler.

Villagers gathered at the site and strongly protested the move demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.

Police arrested three people namely Kayum, Laxman and Nathu in this connection who are believed to be trading in animal hide.

BJP district president Satish Chandel, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Hindu organisations today submitted a memorandum to district Collector, urging them to check such incidents.
