SC issues notice to AK Walia, DDA, Delhi govt in land grabbing case
New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) The Supreme Court today issued notices to Delhi Finance Minister Ashok Kumar Walia, DDA and Delhi Government in a land grabbing case in Chilla village in Mayur Vihar, East Delhi, where two private schools have come up on 3.5 acres of land meant for Government school.
According to petitioner Bal Krishna Sharma, the two schools namely Queen Mary Public School and Amity International School are being run on 3.5 acres of land, fraudulently handed over to Walia Charitable Trust in 2002, when Mr Walia became a minister in Delhi.
According to 1986 Zonal plan of DDA, the land was earmarked for Government school.
Incidentally, Mr Walia is also the Urban Development Minister of Delhi. However, the present worth of the land runs into crores of rupees.
