Golden Jubilee of EMS Government celebrated

Kottayam, Apr 18 (UNI) The Golden Jubilee of the formation of the first Communist government in the state under the leadership of E M S Namboodiripad was celebrated in the district today.

Thousands of party activists, including women participated in the procession taken out under the leadership of District Secretary K J Thomas, Suresh Kurup MP, V N Vasavan MLA and other leaders from the police parade grounds to Thirunakkara Maidan, the venue of the meeting.

Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan inaugurated the celebration.

LDF Convenor Vaikom Viswan and other leaders addressed the meeting.
