New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) Seven-year-old Ankit would be given an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund for escaping from the clutches of his kidnappers.

The child who was kidnapped from his home in Faridabad by his family's tenants on April 6 showed exemplary valour and courage.

The ex-gratia would be kept in a fixed deposit in the name of the child with interest for use by his parents. The amount would be given to the child on his attaining 18 years of age.

Ankit describes how his family's tenants, Jacky and Pankaj, took him to the Faridabad railway station and boarded a train.

Ankit somehow managed to break free and jumped from the moving train. The little boy fell onto the tracks and his hand was severed by an oncoming train. Terrified but refusing to give up, Ankit picked himself up, retrieved his severed hand and ran for help.

Locals spotted Ankit near the railway tracks and rushed him to a hospital. Doctors say his condition is stable but the boy is still in a state of shock.
