Each phase of UP poll is a nail in the coffin of SP govt: Cong
New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) The Congress today claimed there was a stamp of defeat on the incumbent Samajwadi Party-led Mulayam Singh government with the completion of each phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections and said that the ruling party was in "collusion" with the BJP.
"Each defeat in three phases and the remaining four phases will constitute a political end to the Mulayam government," AICC Spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi told mediapersons here.
Saying that each phase was no less than a torturous phase, he said each of them "constitute a nail in the coffin of the Samajwadi Party government." Dr Singhvi said the Samajwadi party had lost its moral and human battle many times over.
In this context, he pointed out that the UP government had lost a battle when Nithari serial killings were reported. It lost another battle when large-scale corruption in the government became public.
It lost a moral battle when the Supreme Court stigmatised the Mulayam Singh government for buying MLAs, followed by the apex court reversing several transfers made by the Samajwadi Party to come to power in 2004.
