CPI calls upon CPI(M) to sort out differences
Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 18 (UNI) The Communist Party of India today called upon the Communist Party of India (Marxist) to sort out the differences they both had for strengthening and taking forward the communist movement in the country.
''I do not want to hide that there are serious differences between the two communist parties on several issues, but in majority of the issues we are having the same thoughts and there is no difference in our views. The differences that we have could be sorted out through mutual respect and discussions'', CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan said in a public meeting here, organised in connection with the golden jubilee celebration of the first communist government in the state.
Stressing that both the communist parties should sit together to sort out the differences to strengthen the communist movement, he said, ''No one has the monopoly of truth and no one can claim that he is correct. Mistakes could be committed by parties and we should learn from the consequences that we have faced''.
''The two communist parties had no differences in the fight against the imperialistic forces, in hailing Cuba, the American aggression in West Asia,'' he said he also added that the ultimate goal of both the sectors was socialism.
''We both remain true to Marxism-Leninism and are trying to apply it to Indian conditions'', he said he further asked ''So where is the difference''? He said the two communist parties were like two streams flowed out of the same source.
