Congress condoles death of two Indians in Virginia

New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) The Congress today condoled the death of two Indians among the 33 people killed in a shooting spree by a senior student at the Virginia Tech University.

Party's Spokesman Abishek Manu Singhvi described it as a "terrible incident," and said "our heart goes out to the bereaved families of all the victims." He said though the principal perpetrator of the violent incident had killed himself, the authorities should take steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

Among the 33 victims, the deaths of Prof G V Loganathan, a lecturer at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Ms. Minal Panchal, a first year Building Science student in the Faculty of Agriculture, had been confirmed.
