Panaji, Apr 17 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy today said the party, poised to emerge as the single largest party in Uttar Pradesh and form government, was not inclined to support any political group in case of failure to meet the expectations.

''BJP is poised to emerge as the largest party after the polls and form a government in Uttar Pradesh. In case it failed, we shall not support any other political group or formation,'' Mr Rudy told media persons here.

Interacting with reporters at the Goa BJP headquarters as the party in charge of elections in the island state, Mr Rudy said even the exit polls had vindicated the top ranking position of the BJP as against its 4th position before elections in the cow belt.

Denying the suggestion that the CD controversy could have an impact on the ongoing UP elections, Mr Rudy said ''The CD was not an approved material and the fellow responsible for the inadvertent mischief was removed.'' The swing in favour of BJP in a row of elections including local body polls at different places and the national mood was visibly for the party, including in UP and Goa, he claimed.

In this connection, he clarified that the BJP was against appeasement of minorities and their exploitation for selfish gains as shown by the Congress that divided the society to suit their vote bank politics.

''For us, all communities and religious denominations are one as national Indians but we are totally against terrorism and cross border infiltrations,'' Mr Rudy added.
