Kavi Sammelan on Mahakavi Surdas on April 20 at Faridabad
Chandigarh, Apr 17 (UNI) The Haryana Sahitya Akademi is organising a seminar and a 'Kavi Sammelan' at the Magpie Tourist Complex at Faridabad on April 20, on the eve of the 529th birth anniversary of Maha Kavi Surdas.
While informing this here yesterday, Mr Radhey Shyam Sharma, Director of the Akademi said Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana will be the chief guest and Mr V S Kundu, Commissioner, Higher Education will be the guest of honour on the occasion.
Mr Sharma said Dr Harish Chander Verma, former professor and head, Hindi Department, MD University, Rohtak will deliver the key note address on the topic of ''Relevance of Maha Kavi Surdas in the Present Context''.
The other poets who will attend the 'Kavi Sammelan' included Dinesh Raghuvanshi, Manjeet Singh, Deepak Gupta, Acharya Baldev Raj Shant, Satpal Singh Chauhan, Hare Ram Samip, Namita Rakesh, Suresh Kaushik, Kamal Kapoor, Sunita Raina and others.
