Govt sets up National Council for Clinical Establishment

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) The centre has constituted a 24-member National Council for Clinical Establishment (NCCE) to ensure minimum standards for clinical establishments and categorise them as per the quality of services available.

The Health Ministry release said today that the Establishment would be empowered to determine the standards for clinical establishments. It would compile, maintain and update a national register of clinical establishments and perform any other function determined by the government from time to time.

It has been set up under the Directorate of Health Services with Director General of Health Service as its Chairman and one representative each from the Dental Council of India, Medical Council of India, Nursing Council of India and Pharmacy Council of India. Three representatives from the Central Council of Indian Medicine representing the yurveda, Siddha and Unani systems of medicine have also been appointed members of the NCCE.

Representatives from the Central Council of Homoeopathy, Indian Medical Association, Bureau of the Indian Standards have also been included in NCCE. Two representatives from the Zonal Councils, two representatives from the North Eastern Council and one from the line of paramedical system have also been appointed members of NCCE.
