Vista International rejigs A-Pac sales team
New Delhi, Apr 17: Walt Disney Company's international TV distribution arm Buena Vista International Television-Asia Pacific (BVITV-AP) has restructured its sales division.
The company has assigned Mr Amit Malhotra the role of Regional Director, Sales, for India, Singapore and Asia Pacific region. In addition to overseeing BVITV's India business, Mr Malhotra's role has been expanded to manage and enhance the strategic relationships with Pan-Asian broadcasters and the company's distribution business in Singapore.
He will be relocating on June 1 to BVITV-AP's regional head office in Hong Kong to take up his newly expanded role. A replacement in India is currently being sought.
Likewise, the role of Mr Mark Chan, Director (Sales - China) has been expanded to Director (Sales - Greater China) and Mr Ramez Sheikh has been promoted to Senior Manager (Sales - South East Asia) from Manager (Sales - Indonesia and emerging markets including Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Brunei).
Other announcements include the appointments of Ms Shreya Kapdi as Assistant Manager (Client Development - India) and Mr Karen Moon as Assistant Manager (Sales, South Korea).

We're also very excited to be expanding the team with Ms Shreya and Mr Karen who bring with them experience and knowledge in their local markets,'' BVITV-AP Vice President (Sales - Asia Pacific) Greg Johnson said.
BVITV was the first US television distributor to expand regionally with six local offices in Asia Pacific, and this restructure further reflects our commitment to accelerate international growth and maintain our position as the leading US distributor of television content in Asia Pacific, he added.
Both Ms Kapdi and Mr Moon assume their roles with immediate effect.
Ms Kapdi will be responsible for managing existing client relationships and exploiting localisation opportunities in India.
She will be based in Mumbai and report directly to Amit Malhotra.
Based in Seoul, Mr Moon has been appointed to support BVITV's distribution business in South Korea, reporting directly to Mr Shinbong Kang, who oversees BVITV's distribution business in addition to managing the Disney Channel and Walt Disney Internet Group businesses in the country.
BVITV provides programming to 160 broadcasters in over 35 territories in the region and licenses 30,000 hours of programming globally.
