Aarti Mehra set to be Delhi Mayor, S S Bajwa Dy Mayor

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) BJP's Aarti Mehra is all set to be the next Mayor of Delhi while Sawinderjeet Singh Bajwa is set to be Deputy Mayor.

Ms Mehra and Mr Bajwa of the BJP were the only ones to file nominations for the two posts till the last date of filing nominations today.

Since, no other nomination has been filed for the abovementioned posts, their election to these posts will be unanimous.

Leader of the House Subhash Arya was also present as MS Mehra and Mr Bajwa filed their nominations.

Meanwhile, Mr Vijender Gupta of the BJP, Mr Ajit Singh, Mr Jai Kishan Sharma and Ms Anita Babbar of the Congress, Ms Sarita Chaudhary, Mr Yogender Chandolia and Ms Rajni Abbi of the BJP, and an independent Chandi Ram filed their nominations for the posts of Member of the Standing Committee.

Mr Prithvi Raj Sawhney, Mr Azad Singh and Ms Veena Sharma of the BJP and Mr. Mukesh Goel of the Congress filed nominations for the posts of Members of the Education Committee.

The election to these posts will be held in the meeting of Municipal Corporation of Delhi on April 23.
