Severe heat waves prevail in UP, MP

Pune, Apr 16 (UNI) Severe heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Haryana and northwest Rajasthan, as heat wave conditions prevailed in remaining parts of Rajasthan and in some parts of Punjab, northwest Madhya Pradesh and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh.

Hot day conditions prevailed in remaining parts of northwest Madhya Pradesh. Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and southwest Madhya Pradesh. It was appreciably above normal in Assam, Meghalaya, east Madhya Pradesh and in some parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashra and coastal Karnataka and were above normal in Uttaranchal. They were appreciably below normal in some parts of Orissa and were below normal in some parts of Rayalseema. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, west Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kshmir, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Very light rain have occurred at isolated places in Vidarbha.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Uttaranchal, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, Andman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada and Kerala.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, coatal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseem and interior Karnataka.
