Salem's custody to be handed over to Delhi police
Mumbai, Apr 16 (UNI) The designated TADA court today directed Mumbai police to hand over the custody of extradited gangster Abu Salem to Delhi police so as to enable them to produce him in a local court in an extortion case.
TADA Judge P D Kode directed the Mumbai police to take Salem to by Delhi by train and hand him over to the Delhi police so that the latter can produce Salem in Tis Hazari court tomorrow in response to the production warrant issued by it.
Salem, who is booked in 1993 serial bomb blasts case and various other cases in Mumbai, is accused of allegedly threatening a Delhi-based businessman for extortion.
In response to the warrant, Salem had earlier contended that he was suffering from backache and that the doctors had advised him not to undertake a long journey.
He
had
also
requested
the
court
to
send
him
to
Delhi
by
flight.
