New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Ridiculing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his statement describing Rahul Gandhi as the future of Uttar Pradesh and the country, the BJP today said there could be no "worst kind of Prime Ministerial sycophancy stemming from the politics of dynasty." The Prime Minister, the party said, had not only once again showed his "utter irresoluteness by this eulogy of Rahul" but also "insulted democracy" in which the people were supreme to decide their future leader.

"What else can be expected from a man who has been reduced to the position of a regent by the dynasty, which expects him to keep the seat warm until the crown prince is ready," the BJP said in a hard hitting statement issued by party spokesman Prakash Javadekar.

In a separate statement, BJP General Secretary Ravi Shankar Prasad said "it is evidently clear that Prime Ministerial sycophancy of the dynasty is now seriously impinging upon the limits of political civility. Now it even extends to not only condoning but even approving the instances of political naivete and diplomatic faux pas by the 'heir apparent' Rahul Gandhi. We had called Dr Manmohan Singh an invisible Prime Minister earlier.

We regret to say that he does not want to be visible as the effective Prime Minister of a great nation, but as a person who could not resist competitive courtierism about the dynasty in spite of the exalted office he holds." Refering to Mr Gandhi's statement taking credit for division of Pakistan which invited a sharp reaction from Islamabad, the BJP said it exposed his "limited family world vision." The party described the statement as "absurd" and "diplomatic disaster." The party asked the External Affairs Ministry to validate what Mr Gandhi had said over the creation of Bangladesh.

Taking exception to Mr Gandhi's statement that the freedom struggle was the achievement of his family, the BJP said it was an "insult to the revolutionaries and freedom fighters" of the country.

These statements along with the one he had made recently on the demolition of Babri Masjid only demonstrated the mindset of the family.

Mocking at Mr Gandhi, the party tried to chide him to give credit to the Gandhi family for partition of India, creation of POK, allowing Pakistan to hand over Aksai Chin to China, imposing Emergency in the country in 1975, promoting Bhindranwale, IPKF misadventure in Sri Lanka, protecting Bofors scandal prime accused Ottavio Quattrochhi and for 1984 anti Sikh riots.
