One killed, another injured in blast in Lake Town

Barrackpore, Apr 16: At least one person was killed and another seriously injured in a bomb explosion today at Lalkuthi under Lake Town police station in North 24 Parganas.

The injured was admitted to R G Kar Medical College Hospital, police said.

Police sources said that two youths Pintu Rajbanshi(22) and Raju Rajbanshi(23) were allegedly winding bombs in a room when a bomb exploded, leaving both seriously injured.

They were immediately rushed to the hospital, but Pintu succumbed to his injuries on the way, police said, adding that Raju sustained serious injuries on his belly.

Police has started preliminary investigation. Both Pintu and Raju were reportedly anti-socials associated with Gopal Rajbanshi, who was also killed in Lake Town a few months back, police said.
