LG stresses on strict compliance of fire safety norms

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Delhi Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna today stressed on strict compliance of the fire safety norms in high-rise buildings and clusters.

Addressing a delegation of fire department officials, led by CFO R C Sharma, to commemorate Fire Service Week, Mr Khanna also stressed on complete digitisation of emergency evacuation plan with regard to the high-rise buildings.

He asked Mr Sharma to view all violations seriously and take suitable corrective measures.

Asking the Chief Fire Officer to prepare an exhaustive list of violators, the Lt Governor directed to set up an alarm screen at headquarters, which pinpoints the area in case of a firebreak.

Mr Sharma apprised the Lt. Governor about the preparedness of the Department in tackling any incident.

The Fire Service Week is observed in memory of 66 gallant officers of the Bombay Fire Brigade, who laid down their lives while fighting a major fire in Bombay dockyard in 1944.
