Jet Airways to enhance comfort for its domestic passengers

Mumbai, Apr 16 (UNI) Buoyed by its succesful negotiations of the Air Sahara deal, and its subsequent acquistion, Jet Airways today announced that it would refurbish its existing domestic Boeing 737 fleet in a progressive manner as part of the airline's major inititaive.

According to plans, the existing fleet for the domestic operations would be configured with new seats in the premiere and econonomy cabins and will offer more space and enhanced features.

The new two class cabin is already operational in five of its current Boeing 737 aircraft and progressively the entire fleet will be refurbished as part of its maintenance plan.

The premiere cabin, manufactured by SIGNMA, will feature seats with 44 inch seat pitch, comfortable leg space and will be fitted with armrest videos with nine inch LCD flat screens.

The economy class seat from Webber has been designed with economics in mind and is a slimmer seat compared to the existing product. Every economy class seat will have a seven inch backrest LCD flat video screen.

The Boeng 737 will be fitted with the state-of-the-art advanced in-flight entertainment system from Panasonic. The latest efx system provides on demand audio-video content with over 200 hrs of programming capacity, a unique juke box which allows passengers to create over 200 customised play lists.

Jet Airways is the first Boeing 737 customer to have installed audio-video on-demand in flight entertainment in a narrow body aircraft, and also the only domestic airline in India, which currently offers audio-video on demand in its premiere and economy class.
