Interpol issues Red-Corner notice against 7/11 blast accused

Mumbai, Apr 16 (UNI) The Interpol has issued a Red-Corner notice against Rizwan Davare, a prime suspect in the July 11, 2006, serial train blasts in Mumbai.

Joint Commissioner of Police and the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) head K P Raghuvanshi here today told mediapersons, Davare was suspected to be a prime conspirator in the July 11 blasts. He had played a vital role in money laundering and provided money to another accused for committing the offence.

Mr Raghuvanshi said, '' We had informed about this wanted accused to the CBI and it had contacted the Interpol authority.'' The Red-Corner Notice has already been issued by the Interpol to nab the culprit, he added.

In the seven blasts, at least 200 people were killed and more than 700 were wounded.

The chargesheet submitted by the ATS runs into 10,667 pages against 13 accused before the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) judge M R Bhatkar. Fifteen people were shown wanted in the chargesheet.

The is accused are--Kamal Ahamed Ansari, Dr Tanvir Ahmed Ansari, Mohd Faisal Shaikh, Ehtesham Siddiqui, Mohammad Majid Shafi, Shaikh Alam Shaikh, Mohd Sajid Ansari, Abdul Wahid Shaikh, Muzzammil Shaikh, Soheil Mehmood Shaikh, Zamir Ahmad Shaikh, Naveed Hussain Khan and Asif Khan Junaid.

Out of the total 28 accused in the case, 13 have been apprehended while 15 have allegedly fled to Pakistan.
