Health, food fest in Udupi from April 18

Udupi, Karnataka, Apr 16 (UNI) A three-day 'Suvarna Arogya Mattu Ahara Mela (Health and Food Fest) would be held here from April 18.

Briefing newspersons here today, Mela Reception Committee Chairman K Raghupathy Bhat, MLA, said 5,000 people were expected to be benefitted by the arogya mela each day. The Government had released Rs 1.26 lakh, besides Rs two lakh worth free medicines for the fest.

The total expenditure for the three-day event would be around Rs five lakh, for which help had been sought from various organisations including banks, industries, temples and donors, he said, adding that 30 food stalls would be put up at the food mela, where local dishes and nutritious food varieties would be sold.
