New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Indians have the quickest sex, devoting on an average just 13 minutes to each session compared to a global figure of 18, according to a new Global survey on sexual wellbeing.

At the other end, Nigerians spend the longest time having sex splurging 24 minutes on every encounter, revealed the Durex Global Sexual Wellbeing Survey.

And in the global satisfaction stakes, India comes third with 61 per cent of the respondents saying they are fully satisfied with their sex lives, compared to a mere 44 per cent worldwide.

Nigerians come up as the most satisfied too - 67 per cent, followed by Mexicans 63 per cent. In contrast, the Japanese - at 15 per cent - are the least fulfilled, said the study conducted online during August and September 2006 across 26 countries.

The Survey questioned more than 26,000 people about every aspect of their sex lives, in a bid to comprehensively chart what constitutes sexual wellbeing.

Interestingly, the study also reveals that Indians on an average have sex 130 times a year, considerably more than the global average of 103.

The Greeks, at 164 times a year, lead the most amorous life.

Brazilians (145 times) clock in next, followed by the Poles and the Russians (both 143).

Only 46 per cent of Indians report a regular orgasm. And two-thirds of Indian women say they are satisfied with their sex lives, compared to 58 per cent of men.

The new study, based on key aspects of health, general wellbeing, education, beliefs, sex and relationships, attitudes to sex and social circumstances, identifies ways in which Indians could boost their satisfaction levels even further, with almost half of all Indians (47 per cent) craving for an injection of more love and romance.

According to UK-based sexual health expert Dr Kevan Wylie, who has been involved in the study, the survey enables identification of key drivers of sexual wellbeing and confirms the role it plays in physical and emotional health.

''The survey highlights how vital it is for everyone, especially men, to not only consider their sexual health but to talk to their doctor about solving problems to improve their sex life and that of their partner.'' The findings are not short of curious details. While more than two-thirds (67 per cent) of Indians say their sex lives are exciting, 55 per cent recognise the importance of introducing a little experimentation, with telephone sex and massage included as new trial activities.

And all over the world, people in their late teens are maybe having sex less often than their elders, but the time appears to be made up by sessions that are twice as long each averaging close to 40 minutes.

The teens report significantly higher satisfaction too, in the study.

Conducted by Harris Interactive, the participating countries were Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hong King, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands , New Zealand, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
