Two Lashkar militants gunned down

Jammu, Apr 15 (UNI) Security forces have gunned down two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, including an area commander, in the higher reaches of Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir this afternoon, official sources said.

Army sources said an operation was launched by 4 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) after specific information about the presence of a some militants at Upper Dandi, at 1330 hrs.

''Two militants have been killed so far, while the operation was still in progress. One militant has been identified as Fayyaz Mir alias Abu Zaidi while the other is identity could not be ascertained immediately but he may be a Pakistani national,'' a senior army official said.

A Central Reserve Police Force constable L Marandi was wounded in the encounter and admitted to a nearby hospital, sources added.
