Tribals torch escort vehicle of Rajasthan CM

Jaipur, Apr 15 (UNI) Tribals today torched a police vehicle escorting Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje as they were offended over the entry of the police team into Gautam Rishi Ashram wearing leather shoes.

According to police sources Chief Minsiter Vasundhara Raje today visited Gautam Rishi Ashram located at Choutila village under Paldi police station in Sirohi district.

During the visit, the police team escorting the CM entered into the ashram wearing leather shoes and uniform which was not allowed in the ashram.

After the Chief Minister left the venue the irate Meena tribals overturned and set on fire a police vehicle parked there. However, no casulty was reported.

Jodhpur IG NRK Reddy and other senior officials were camping in the area. The Chief Minister later left for Udaipur.
