SP, Ind candidate supporters exchange hands

Lucknow, Apr 15: Several people were today wounded in a clash between ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate and supporters of an independent candidate in Meerut city.

The incident took place at Dehli Gate area, where supporters of SP candidate Munna and Independent candidate Ayub resorted to stone pelting.

The injured were rushed to a hospital.

The incident was a follow-up of yesterday's quarrel between the two groups at Khernagar area, police said.

Over 12 people have been arrested, police added.
