Six labourers killed in road accident

Tirupati, Apr 15 (UNI) Six labourers, including three women and a 12-year-old boy, were killed and 11 injured, three of them seriously, when a sand-laden tipper in which they were travelling overturned at Mallayappapalle village in Chandragiri mandal of Chittoor district today.

The deceased were identified as Chammanti (25) Mukdev (25) Wadi (35) Kamuli (45) Ayyathhur (40) and Kalapalem (12), police said.

While five labourers were killed on the spot, one of the 11 was injured admitted to the Government Ruia Hospital here, succumbed to their injuries.

They were proceeding to Chandragiri after purchasing vegetables when the mishap occurred, police said.

The victims, hailing from from Salapalam in Jagadalpur district of Madhya Pradesh, were engaged in a private quarry at Mallayyapalem village.
