Secretaries to look after districts
Patna, Apr 15 (UNI) To tone up the administration and accelerate the execution of developmental works, Bihar government has decided to give charges of the districts to each secretary.
State Home Commissioner Afzal Amanullah said here today that the decision was taken in a meeting held here yesterday. He said each secretary will be given charge of a district in addition to the charge of the department. The secretaries would visit the districts every month to monitor the development works, for redressal of grievances, identify bottlenecks and help the district administration overcome the problems.
He said the secretaries would be required to work in tandem with the ministers who were given similar charges of the districts last year.
Meanwhile, cabinet secretary Girish Shankar said infrastructural development and human resources were the focal point of the administration. He said the government was considering to provide three phase electric conections from its own resources in the areas to be energised under the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Programme.
