New Delhi, Apr 15: In what could be music to the ears of estranged BJP leaders like Uma Bharti and Madan Lal Khurana, the RSS has asked the BJP to initiate a ''grand reconciliation'' with rebel leaders who were once its flag bearers for polarising Hindu votes.

Hailing the successes of the BJP in the assembly elections in Uttarakhand and for the Akali Dal-BJP alliance in Punjab, and now in the Municipal Council of Delhi, the RSS said the trend in the national capital was in conformity with the trend set by the urban voters of Uttar Pradesh last year. However, the BJP has to perfect the art of convincing the estranged sympathisers of the Hindu votes, RSS mouthpiece the 'Organiser' exhorted the BJP in its editorial without naming leaders like Uma Bharti and Madanlal Khurana.

The handling of the elections in MCD polls was well managed and spirited but there was no dooor to door campaining resulting in low voter turnout.

As far as the Congress is concerned, it lost all the three Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra and the losses were only piling up notwithstanding the trumpeting of a 'sycophantic media' about the ''ruling family,'' which was brazenly displaying 'born to rule' arrogance in the UP road shows.

"The mismatch of the dynastic pretentions with 21st century dreams of youthful resurgent India is a tragic epitaph of Congress megalomania," the RSS observed.

About the ongoing elections in UP and forthcoming elections in Goa, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat in the next one year, the paper said two unmistakable signs in the ongoing churning was clear that the decline of the UPA had begun and BJP's revival a certainty. The party had gained more from the Congress follies than from its own positive impact. Had it been a pro-BJP wave, the positive voting, the victory margins would be higher and margins more convincing.

Nonetheless the BJP has every reason to be pleased, the editorial said.
