Regularise poor people houses,plots: BJP

Hyderabad, Apr 15 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party Andhra Pradesh president Bandaru Dattatreya today demanded that the state government regularise the lands, dwellings and plots belonging to the families of below poverty line without any surcharge.

In a statement here, he said the government should distribute the assigned lands acquired from influential people and distribute them to the dalits and backward classes people in the state.

The government should also come out with a white paper on the proposal to regularise the assigned lands and constructed buildings which were in the hands of influential people, besides bringing to the notice of the people about the rules and regulations to regularise the assigned lands.

Stating that the BJP would oppose regularisation of the agricultural lands grabbed by the vested interests from the poor people and dalits, the BJP leader said the government should constitute land assignment committee's from Mandal, assembly segment and district-level and conduct meetings regularly.

Powers should be given to gram committees for issuing title deeds and assignment of lands to the poor people, he said adding the government should formulate the rules and regulations after eliciting the views from the people in this regard.
