Priyanka says 'no' to active politics

Amethi, Apr 15 (UNI) Setting at rest all speculation, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's daughter and party 'star campaigner' Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today reiterated that ''she would never enter into active politics.'' ''Media has been asking this question for the last ten years.

Even for the next ten years, my answer to this question would remain in the negative,'' she told reporters before leaving for Delhi.

Priyanka, who was on a three-day Amethi-Rae Bareli visit as part of ongoing UP assembly poll campaign, rubbished all allegations of the opposition that Amethi lags behind in development.

''Those who say Amethi lags behind in development might not have made a visit to the constituency,'' she maintained.

''It is the first time when I have been entrusted the responsibility of Vidhan Sabha poll management. It is a good experience but one cannot predict the results. One can only hope for the best,'' she said.

''However, I am sure that the results will be in favour of the Congress,'' she claimed.

She exhorted Congress workers to dissolve personal differences and concentrate on the ongoing state election.

Later, after promising to visit again between April 16 and 20, if required, she left for Delhi.
