Om Nanotech brings micro-chip testing tech to India
New Delhi, Apr 15: Singapore-based Om Associates Pte Ltd has set up a manufacturing and R&D facility at Noida with an investment of 10 million &xD;dollars to bring micro-chip testing technology to India.
Despite a high global demand, cost-effective micro-chip testing technology has been largely limited to Taiwan and China, where the know-how is closely held by a few selected operators, said Mr Atul Khosla, Director, Om Nanotech Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Singapore firm.
''Om Nanotech intends to consolidate the memory business, targeting market-leadership position by 2010, as we are the first ones to bring this technology in India,'' Mr Khosla said.
It will also create at least 400 skilled and semi-skilled job opportunities in the country, he added.
Mr Khosla said that Taiwanese experts stationed in the Noida facility have set-up the process and will expose the innovative Indian R&D mind to these &xD;technological nuances.
Om Associates was set up in August 2004 by NRI technocrats.
The company has presence in six countries -- Singapore, the US, the UK, Taiwan, Hong Kong and India.
