Nine members of two families killed in road mishap in Punjab

Gurdaspur, Apr 15 (UNI) Nine members of two families, including five children, were killed when the jeep in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck near Hajipur in Hoshiarpur district today.

According to police, the deceased were on their way to pay obeisance at the Chintpurni shrine in Himachal Pradesh. They were all local residents.

The four adult members, who were killed, were identified as Rajesh Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Surjit and his wife Praveen. The identity of the children were not yet known.

No one in the jeep survived the accident, police stated.
