Maharashtra Governor offers worship at Tirumala

Tirupati, Apr 15 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna today offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala here.

Mr Krishna, who arrived last evening at Renigunta airport from Mumbai by special flight, had unveiled the nine ft bronze statue of former Lok Sabha Speaker Madabhushi Anantha Sayanam Iyengar at Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyaveetha Peetam(RSVP) here.

He was received by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Joint Executive Officer (JEO) Balaramaiah and other officials on his arrival at the temple entrance in the morning. The Governor also participated in the religious functions TTD sources said.

The TTD officials presented him prasadam and a portrait of Lord venkateswara while the priests honoured him with vedic hymns on the temple premises.

Mr Krishna also offered prayers to Goddess Padmavathi in Tiruchanoor temple near here and at Kalahasteeswara temple in Srikalahasti, about 30 km from here, the sources added.
