Lankan held with Heroin at Chennai Airport
Chennai, Apr 15: Officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized about three kg of Heroin, worth Rs three crore in International market, and arrested two people, including a Sri Lankan National.
NCB South Zone Director S Davidson Devasirwatham said the officials intercepted the Lankan S Baskaran alias Panja at the Anna International airport when he was about to leave for Colombo on April 13 and seized 2.285 kg of heroin from him.
The narcotic drug was concealed in the false bottom of the suitcase.
Based on the follow up action, NCB officials later arrested Devarajan, with whom Baskaran had stayed during his visit to the city.
Both of them were remanded in judicial custody.
