Kashmir to Kanyakumari Yatra to raise awareness for eye donation
New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) In a unique endeavour to bring home the need for eye donation, a long journey from Kashmir to Kaniyakumari will be undertaken from April 22 to spread awareness on the issue.
To be undertaken under the aegis of the All India Blind Welfare Social Welfare council, the 7500 km 'Yatra' will be led by the president of the Pune unit of the council Madhusudan Ghanekar.
The aim of the yatra would be to raise awareness among the public about the cause of eye donation through signature campaigns as well as cultural programmes, Mr Avinash Sanghvi of the council said.
The yatra will conclude on May 13.
