Gram Shree Mela-Jammu-2007 starts

Jammu, Apr 15 (UNI) The Gram Shree Mela-Jammu-2007 to showcase and promote traditional arts, artifacts, jewelery and handicraft items in rural areas today started at Dussehra Ground in Gandhi Nagar of Jammu city.

Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Babu Singh inaugurated the mela. About 70 NGOs from all over the country have set up their stalls in the gram Shree Mela the mela started with a colourful cultural program by the Jack Dancing Institute.

Speaking on the occasion the Minister said the union government has been trying hard to project the traditional art forms and helping the rural artisans exhibit and sell their products in other parts of the country.
