Four killed in car-tanker collison

Thane, Apr 14 (UNI) Four members of a family from Tarapur in this district were killed and two others injured when the car in which they were travelling had a head-on collision with a water tanker at Mann village in Boisar on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway today, district rural police said.

The accident occurred at about 0245 hrs when the passengers were returning home after visiting the temple of Goddess Mahalaxmi near Dahanu, sources said.

The deceased have been identified as Kishore Vitthal Patil (39), his wife Suhasini (35) son Jatin (10) and daughter Leamani (8).

The injured have been admitted to a local hospital.

The tanker driver has been arrested, sources added.
